It has been since its inception

[–] JustAnotherPodunk@lemmy.world 10 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

All things considered, color me impressed if in 60 days the number is half that.

[–] PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

its not difficult to put chuds in uniforms. training them was always the difficult bit

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

Training? Is it really that hard to kidnap random (non-"white") people and deport them to concentration camps?

[–] notannpc@lemmy.world 39 points 13 hours ago

Government employees who reclaim billions of dollars in fraud(CFPB): laid off.

Government employees who break the law and behave more like Nazi SS: we need 20k more.

Says everything you need to know about this government.

These are going to be members of white supremacist gangs. Arm yourselves. This is the same thing Hitler did

[–] Neuromorph@lemm.ee 9 points 12 hours ago

So all the federal budgetary RIFs were for what?

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 24 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Aahh, so the SS is about to arrive

Whoever is going to be in charge should seriously watch his back, though

[–] superkret@feddit.org 3 points 2 hours ago

Yeah, this is more like the SA.
SA leadership was shot dead in a nightly purge when they had outlived their usefulness.

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 27 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Everyone who hates ice should apply and then just be shit at their jobs. Deport nobody. Lose paperwork. Say you can't find the person. Then if you get fired they just hire someone else who's screwing things up from the inside.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 3 points 3 hours ago

They'll be checking everyone's social media, and they'll find new recruits, and new victims, at the same time.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 9 points 16 hours ago

They'll still be nurnberged afterward.

[–] Vorticity@lemmy.world 32 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

So, we're going to have even more poorly trained ICE officers rounding people up to be sent to concentration camps. People who have no idea how to validate documents. People who don't understand the different types of legal statuses. People who want nothing more than to round up anyone with brown skin, regardless of their status. People who know that due process is dead because we can't afford five million trials.

Ignoring what anyone thinks of undocumented immigrants, people with legal status are going to get caught in this. Some of them are going to go to camps. Some of them are going to be deported. Some of them are going to die. There will be more and more "mistakes" with no attempt at remediation.

I have no doubt that even citizens are going to die as a consequence of this.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

we’re going to have even more poorly trained ICE officers

The problem with the gestapo is not actually poor training.

Ignoring what anyone thinks of undocumented immigrants,

No thanks.

people with legal status are going to get caught in this... I have no doubt that even citizens are going to die as a consequence of this.

Yes. This is partially because people think ICE just needs better training, people ignore/excuse attacks on refugees, etc.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 13 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

They don't know the legal nuances, and they don't care. They just want to kill people they don't like with impunity, and they will get their chance. There will be an outcry at the first few murders, but then there will be so many that it will become routine, and the news won't even cover it.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 hours ago

But if only they were better trained!!! \s

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemm.ee 25 points 17 hours ago

He wants to deputize the gravy seals and have them round up anyone they don’t like.

[–] Bread_and_Circuses@reddthat.com 19 points 17 hours ago

Beefing up the gestapo under the guise of immigration enforcement. Meanwhile the shelves are starting to dwindle down and things might start to get a bit restless. The "homegrowns" are next...

[–] TemplaerDude@lemm.ee 24 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Y'all constantly go on about that fucking dumb ass 2nd amendment, here's a threat to your free state.

[–] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 13 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

It's not a threat to them. They want their christofascist ethnostate.

[–] gabbath@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Yeah, to them it's not a threat — it's empowerment.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 96 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Holy shit this is bad. There's already tons of reports of the already expanded ICE field personnel calling detainees "Mexican bitches" and not following well-established law and law enforcement laws and procedures. At least with local law enforcement, you still get some people joining because they're true believer types that want to really protect and serve. Not everyone, sure, there's plenty of asshats in local enforcement, but there's always a few boy scout types that put on the uniform thinking of helping grandma cross the street and stopping actual bad guys instead of shooting minorities. Nobody who wants to do good in the world is going to be joining ICE right now. It's basically MAGA welfare; get paid to be a gun carrying shitheel whose only qualification is being able to spot brown people. He's effectively making a gestapo here.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 35 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

The Gestapo were evil but not stupid. The closest equivalent to ICE in Nazi Germany would have been the SA.

Remember how during the election campaign he had sign-up forms for the maga loyalists who attended his rallies and were interested in working for his government?

This is the next step in that plan. The first step was having Musk and his DOGE lackeys gut the federal government of anyone who was employed in areas they didn't like, it those who might be critical of them.

Now they are moving to step 2: they are going to use subs of the freed-up wages from those lost positions to flood the federal government with their loyalist grunts. And ICE is the perfect place for most of them. These people will get to strut around in their armed forces paraphernalia, persecuting immigrants and people with darker skin than them.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of those rally sign-up forms anywhere recently. But this is all part of a wider plan.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 2 points 2 hours ago

Signing up the MAGA faithful is the perfect way to destroy the operation from within. They think that loyalty is more important than competence, and that will be their eventual undoing.

Their problem is that they believe their own propaganda. They honestly believe that EVERYBODY working for the government is a lazy incompetent parasite who does nearly nothing at work all day, and what little they do is fucked up. Surely a MAGA Moron can do just as good a job, and be loyal at the same time.

While they are staffing their government with idiotic traitors, the Resistance is staffing up with competent, intelligent government leaders, who are highly experienced, and know how the systems work. Eventually the showdown will come, and the idiots won't know what to do. Moronic arrogance only takes you so far.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 44 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It almost makes me miss the first term when he had no plan

[–] hume_lemmy@lemmy.ca 33 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He still has no plan. This is somebody else's plan, and they just whisper it into Grandpa's ear and let the dementia do the rest.

ice “troops”?…

This doesn’t sound good.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago

This is all perfectly normal immigration and customs enforcement. We will call them the "Nice Troops".

Apply, interview, whole nine. Take the job, get all the way through the training, then quit or sabotage.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 3 points 3 hours ago

If you make it all the way through the hiring process, definitely don't quit. Now you are in a perfect position to be a mole for the resistance. Leak info, copy documents, weaponize incompetence, come to work sick, sabotage equipment, screw up orders, be the office asshole, waste time in meetings discussing irrelevant stuff, etc.

Imagine if every ICE office across the country had 2 or 3 people gumming up the works like that?

[–] beveradb@lemm.ee 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I actually wanna try this, it would be fascinating. Any idea where the jobs are posted?

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Most federal jobs are all posted at USAjobs.gov you'll just need to play around with the search filter.

[–] Civil_Liberty@lemm.ee 6 points 12 hours ago

get job in HR, leak all the employment files, names and addresses.

[–] match@pawb.social 28 points 22 hours ago

brownshirts

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 47 points 1 day ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (3 children)

That’s 20k new hires with families and home addresses that can be doxxed. I am NOT saying violence is the answer, but these 20k people should absolutely live in worry for their families’ safety because of their participation in this gestapo.

Anonymous, where are you?

Edit: here is a shot from an ICE raid in California, with a very clear shot of an "agent."

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 50 points 1 day ago (6 children)

Hey Republicans, you better stand up against this shit if you're against it. This nazi shit is on your conscience.

Over the last 4 years, the United States has endured a full-scale invasion of aliens entering and remaining in the country illegally, causing a relentless onslaught of crime, vagrancy, violence, and death in countless American communities. This lawless invasion has also limited the capacity of American schools and hospitals to provide for American citizens and has diverted billions of dollars in Federal, State, and local social services from Americans in need.

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 40 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

causing a relentless onslaught of crime, vagrancy, violence, and death

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_the_United_States

The population adjusted crime rate has basically never been lower than it has been for the past decade, in the history of the USA

https://docs.house.gov/meetings/JU/JU01/20250122/117827/HHRG-119-JU01-20250122-SD004.pdf

Immigrants, especially undocumented immigrants, have a lower crime rate than US born citizens.

The only way to rapidly expand a workforce is to relax standards. So they're about to hire 20K loosers who couldn't make it as a cop.

And I don't even want to speculate about the calabre of person who would be attracted to that line of work.
