/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

The devious part is Star Wars fans will think "it's a trap" on the down, which makes the best franchise Trek. Very good troll!

Eh "it's a trap" is better known.

I know "that's a wrap" just from random Hollywood stuff to wrap up filming.

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

It's a warp!

When I started my current job, my boss and one of the older guys there asked me "star trek or star wars" after I mentioned liking sci fi (they preferred the different franchises respectively and were looking for a tiebreaker for their banter or something I guess). Got a laugh out of them by replying with "stargate".

BSG would like a word.

[–] 13igTyme@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Should have thrown others at them like Farscape or Babylon 5.

"Star Track or Space Wars... Oh no you misunderstand... The Doc won science fiction in 1954 with Lensman, it was so good that they stopped making Sci-Fi. But I'm sure your things are just fine, I guess." Looks like you missed that opportunity, better luck next time.

This crossword sucks, none of the other answers make any sense if you write in stargate.

It's like twerking, but with Twileks.

I’m interested, keep talking.

Thank you, it was bothering me that the creator didn't understand how crosswords work.

[–] hypnicjerk@lemmy.world 33 points 4 days ago

it's obviously a snippet of a larger crossword lol

The battle in the 9th book between Luke Skywalker and Voldemort in Middle Earth is top tier television. Star Trek is probably the best action movie ever made. Jackie Chan absolutely nailed the role of Dr. Who.

RIP Ian Fleming. It was your masterpiece.

You're all missing the obvious answer of TekWar. There's an error made by the publisher here.

So ... does this mean there are other Sci-Fi franchises known as ....

  • STAR TRES
  • STAR TRRS
  • STAR TARK
  • STAR WARK
  • STAR WAES
  • STAR WREK

because according to the clues given and probable answers, these are all correct .... and if you argue between two scifi franchises ... the answers never give as to which of the two they are.

I think there’s a mistake with 71 down - you need to add a few spaces and change it to “FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE”.

[–] usernamefactory@lemmy.ca 6 points 4 days ago

Star Tark is boring. Give me Star Wres!

[–] ThatGuy46475@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

They did something similar with “tomorrows headline” either “bush wins” or “gore wins”
