brb trying this with lactaid

[–] BlueLineBae@midwest.social 31 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

They already make lactase drops and powder you can add to your food. I personally just think it's easier to take a couple pills before I eat pizza instead of having a bunch of chalk dust sprinkled on it.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 8 points 3 weeks ago

I need to figure out how to mix in lactase drops into a dense dessert like a blizzard, because mixing the entire contents of the cup makes it soft faster.

I remember I was twenty-five and ate a medium pepperoni pizza at like 10 pm at night. I woke up around 1 am with the worst feeling in my chest. It was a horrible burning that would not go away and kept me up all night.

Yes, I discovered I had heart burn. Never had it up until this point and I have had it ever since. FUN!

i find that I have significantly less problems with heartburn when I remember to eat enough fiber. eating more veggies, pulses,, wholegrain bread and fruit helps me a lot

[–] Anivia@feddit.org 5 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Yeah but I'd rather shit a brick once or twice a day than have runny poop 5 times a day

[–] dreugeworst@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

do you have an intolerance or something? as long as you build up your intake of fibre relatively slowly eating more of it (both soluble and insoluble) should help you be more regular, unless you have some condition of course

[–] Anivia@feddit.org 2 points 3 weeks ago

No, my body is very used to eating lots of fiber, that's not the issue. I just eat a ton of calories because I'm very physically active, so even when I pay attention to eating foods with little fiber I still get around 50 grams per day, at least when bulking.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 weeks ago

huh? fibre doesn't make poo runny, it does the precise opposite, that's the whole point of eating fibre

Weird. Kind of the opposite for me. Had it constantly as a kid, like once since hitting thirty-and that was a while ago

[–] UnfairUtan@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

We are grinder brothers

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

as an alumnus of the nuclear taco club, either i burned out those nerves or i'm extraordinarily lucky. i'ma go eat a habanero

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Habanero is easier than the original post.

[–] QualifiedKitten@discuss.online 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I was so confused, trying to figure out why anyone would want to grind up Smarties on their pizza.

[–] Obi@sopuli.xyz 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Weird, this is what smarties are to me:

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

me too. I've never seen smarties referred to as anything but the chocolate.

[–] RaccoonBall@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 weeks ago

That means you probably have snowy winters and call the op's smarties "rockets"

[–] ckmnstr@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Tropical fruit flavor! That's a pharmacist's pineapple pizza.

[–] InvalidName2@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This is where famotidine shines. One itsy-bitsy pill right before or right after I eat something that tends to give me heartburn and I'm all good for the night.

My biggest issue is I have a heat-tooth, but my internal anatomy feels otherwise. And there's no common over the counter pill that I'm aware of that's useful for appeasing a small intestine that wants me dead.

[–] Winthrowe@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

They like spicy food. Like a sweet tooth.

[–] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Yeah, ranitidine and famotidine were both very good to me back when I got heartburn often, and I'll still hit them up once in a while. There's even ones that have mint coating, so any indigestion later at least has an air of freshness.

[–] Corn@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

Like a half teaspoon of fresh baking soda in warm water works on contact.

Those will give ya kidney stones. Omeprozol or pepsid AC 30 mins before is much better

[–] this@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

Yea ok that's enough Lemmy for me today.

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 weeks ago

Just drizzle on some pepto. The real pink sauce.

[–] jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

why would you add candy to pizza? are they stupid?

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I know what brand of candy it is

[–] ArsonButCute@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Tums isn't candy, its a flavored antacid made of chalk

[–] jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It's yummy and has a nice texture, therefore it's candy

[–] toeblast96@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 weeks ago

eating tums and coughdrops straight up🤤🤤🤤🤤

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 2 points 3 weeks ago

Pfft, you'll take way more than that measly slice before I need the fruit-flavored chalk.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 weeks ago

people get heartburn from one slice of regular-ass pizza?
