You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Avoid shilling for corporations, posting advertisements, or promoting exploitation of workers.

Proselytization, support, or defense of authoritarianism is not welcome. This includes but is not limited to: imperialism, nationalism, genocide denial, ethnic or racial supremacy, fascism, Nazism, Marxism-Leninism, Maoism, etc.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Doesn't even matter what's in it, the fact that people are still using spotify is pretty problematic.

[–] sem@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 19 hours ago

The real LPT is always in the comments.

I never used spotify and yet the only thing i feel i'm missing out on is wrapped lol

EDIT: I've just got bombarded with the names of players I've never even heard of, someone just tell me what to do on Navidrome

[–] turbowafflz@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

ListenBrainz and last.fm both can track your music activity from almost any player and will give you a year in review thing as well as stats throughout the year. I think there are navidrome plugins for both of them

My gay ass miss it so much after changing to qobuz

[–] Aneb@lemmy.world 7 points 23 hours ago

The gay experience: comparing oneself to their friends and family. Been there

[–] inkzombie@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 day ago

I would also like to know of alternatives

Maloja + multi-scrobbler and you can make your own "wrapped" yearly data.

[–] carotte@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 day ago

looking at the "frequently played" section of elisa just isn't the same tbh

Would cause me to have anxiety attacks for weeks stressing about what i did wrong.

LPT: Statements that include the word "problematic" can be safely ignored. If the speaker could articulate the problem, they would.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Statements that include the word “problematic” can be safely ignored.

Does that make your statement useless?

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

it's a paradox!

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

I believe not. "Problematic" here is included for clarity. This can be avoided by just saying that sentences which include such words can be safely ignored. Such words being problematic...

But I think you get the point. The word is not really part of the sentence. It can be excluded without loss of meaning provided sufficient context.

[–] snowsuit2654@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 18 hours ago

I use the word problematic IRL but it's true that the next breath is explaining why.

[–] Aneb@lemmy.world 10 points 23 hours ago

Its pretty problematic that in the year of our lord 2025 people still listen to Panic! At the Disco. I will not articulate further

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I got a comment like this on Lemmy, yesterday, and it wasn't even about music.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

It is a thing on Spotify, that summarizes your listening habits for the year.

It's so frustrating. It would have been a simple Google search. I did emotional labor for your sake.

I remember when the online left was a much smaller circle. I knew almost everyone. But then it became mainstream and has people who never read Marx and Hegel. Or even worse: are actively watching Vaush instead of working at a soup kitchen. Normies like you ruin everything!

Check your privilege! Read a book!

Jokes on you. I use Newpipe for music.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 10 hours ago

Jokes on you, I use right click directory, open with VLC.

This is the guy Alfred warned me about, isn’t it?

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 6 points 1 day ago

No, mr. Wayne. Alfred warned you about another Joker.

Nah, she transitioned, is more into melting the world with alkaline chemicals these days. This guy wasn't like that yet.
