Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

MODERATORS

The White House posted a photo of Trump alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of Personnel Dan Scavino, and other administration officials on its X account on Saturday evening. The photo shows a makeshift room surrounded by black curtains and multiple maps of the region.

Jesus H Fucking Christ. This is a security violation, severe damage to national security, complete incompetence and insult to all of us who take national security seriously of epic proportions.

Also leaving couch fucker in vice president actually in charge in the situation room is such a dereliction of duty.

What do you expect from an orange guy that kept classified documents in his toilet room...

[–] totesmygoat@piefed.ca 7 points 2 months ago

I hope Iran has this place on the short list of places to remove from the plant.

[–] MTZ@lemmy.world 101 points 2 months ago (4 children)

Looking at this photo as well as a few others, I have identified like 14 opsec failures.

This administration is a fucking joke.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 44 points 2 months ago

I'm sure the pictures even existing is at least one them.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago (2 children)

These were probably the same Iran invasion plans he had been letting like Kid Rock look at and were likely seen by numerous spies.

A security violation? From the guy who said "You're the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying it's declassified, even by thinking about it." during an interview? From the administration that accidentally texted it's plans to bomb Yemen to a journalist 2 hours before the attack? You mean the guy that tweeted photos from a satellite so classified, the last guy that leaked photos from it was sent to jail for espionage? The guy that stole hundreds of classified documents and destroyed an unknown number more? Nah...

What a bullshit country we've become.

We've arranged ourselves to be in compliance with the content of one, doddering racist's fever dream of America.

The video of him walking around shaking hands and getting back pats from the abundantly available sycophants and psychopaths at Mar-A-Lago while he launches an illegal war to further destabilize an entire region and kill 100+ children at a hospital is viscerally disgusting.

We've arranged ourselves to be in compliance with the content of one, doddering racist's fever dream of America.

This war is possibly the most American thing he has ever done. He's simply following the long tradition of American imperialism in the Middle East: from the CIA-backed coup that overthrew Iran's democratically elected Mossadeq in 1953 to protect oil interests, to arming the Mujahideen against the Soviets, funding the very networks that would fracture into the Taliban and al-Qaeda; from Bush Sr.'s 1991 Gulf War that entrenched permanent bases in the region, to Bush Jr.'s 2003 invasion of Iraq built on fabricated WMD claims; to Obama's 2011 NATO intervention in Libya that toppled Gaddafi under a "responsibility to protect" mandate, then abandoned the country to militia warlords and slave markets. Each chapter follows the same script: regime change, chaos, retreat, and the next generation of blowback.

Look at him in that picture, nothing epic fury there as he looks like a corpse left in the river too long.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Yeah but I'm saying only someone with the intelligence of an 11 year old would think that sounds cool.

[–] TheseusNow@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 months ago

For real...

[–] Kirk@startrek.website 10 points 2 months ago

The entire administration is compromised of deeply insecure people who seek emotional validation from Twitter.

I mean look at that solid SecOps with that curtain separating them and their secure comms from the rest of the international golfers that are definitely not spies.

[–] cybervseas@lemmy.world 46 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Is that a real picture? He’s melting …

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 44 points 2 months ago (3 children)

What press dude let that out?

  • He looks like he's 90 and not 79
  • He didn't have time to do his hair
  • He looks pissed and scared at the same time? Not sure how that's possible, but it's true.
[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

pissed and scared at the same time

Probably shit himself again. He's pissed because he can't leave to change his nappy and scared everyone else heard it. Based on everyone else's expressions, they did.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Maybe his hair is falling out from disease or cancer.

Yeah look at the right face droop. You can tell when he has a TIA because he starts making exceptionally terrible decisions to feel like he's still in control

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Oh god, I can imagine the smell

[–] CompactFlax@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 2 months ago

He looks like he’s had a stroke and was just wheeled in to fill space.

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 34 points 2 months ago

One can hope

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 months ago (2 children)

And what’s with the hat the last few days, is his hair falling out or something?

It would not be out of the ordinary for someone hours age to get cancer, especially with his lifestyle.

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It makes him look so much older for some reason, or maybe he is just aging hard and fast these days. That he has it on at night and indoors does suggest he is using it because he is insecure about something or having some kind of issue the hat covers up.

Also, what kind of a fucked up person stats a war and is casually at a giving gold course? I mean that's just all kinds of pathetic to declare a war, looking school kids while you're off on yet another golf vacation instead of needing there making the tough calls, just absolutely fucking pathetic.
