I mean, that's not it. It's vaguely colored/shaped, but other than that, no similarities.
The claws and body plates seem like important features. I agree that the weird fish thing doesn't really look like it's based off this animal.
This is just indirectly the same joke as the guy who said sushi.

I agree, the phrasing was poor since many arthropods easily beat this guy in terms of small size.
