I tried to teach my nephew that the voice search button on his parent's TV Remote is for idiots. Only idiots use that.
Speech to text is extremely useful in certain circumstances. Like when my arthritic hands are acting up.
That would be fair if these companies weren't using it to spy on, profile you, and train AI off your voice. At that point you might need to just have somebody with working hands nearby.
