The average person has slightly less than 2 legs.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 79 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Some baby's only half out.

[–] credo@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

Just keep refreshing. This number is live.

[–] Blackout@fedia.io 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Due to the recent supreme court ruling black people are 3/5 again.

[–] jdr@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You can't get to a half by adding up fifths.

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Anything is possible with American math.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Add 5 whales and 34 prairie dogs and you get 26.5 elephants

Multiply 14 cats by 31 dogs and you get an abomination unto god

[–] Zozano@aussie.zone 1 points 1 week ago

Sure you can. 2.5/5

[–] SergeantGarcia@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago

Maybe its your mother that counts for 1,5? 😏

[–] fubarx@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Simple math error. They counted limbs, then divided by four.

[–] Chakravanti@monero.town 1 points 1 week ago

Over there, this how AI develops the cognition of "guessing."

[–] Tomassci@sh.itjust.works 31 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That's what happens when your way of counting humans is an equation I guess.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 16 points 1 week ago

It can easily be rounded before being displayed.

[–] Pistcow@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Could have easily done a roundup function....

My half brother.

[–] certified_expert@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Haven't you ever heard the expression "half brother"?

[–] mavu@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 1 week ago

Typical race condition because birth is not an atomic operation. Count function was called when baby was half in / half out.

[–] favoredponcho@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago

Why is everyone so dumb

[–] herseycokguzelolacak@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago

They are probably using a formula to count, and forgot to round off.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago

These guys would not make good cattlemen, they can't round up.

[–] Today@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Bunch of people are on the fence.

[–] sbeak@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 week ago

The number is based on the average birth/death rates around the world, which aren't exact, so there are sometimes a few quirks when it comes to statistics like these, like a weird decimal. As it turns out, there isn't some omnipresent being whose job is to count as all, and no, centaurs, mermaids, and other similar "half humans" unfortunately do not exist.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Scott Weiland said in his song Creep that he was "half the man he used to be". Maybe it's someone like that.

[–] erusuoyera@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Since this is only counting humans, they've dropped the half biscuit.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

people can float

would astronauts count?

[–] limer@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

AI slop from Google

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

They usually count my bottom-half twice.

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Palestinians 'cause you're getting your numbers from Google

[–] Chakravanti@monero.town 1 points 1 week ago

Well, it's a Meth guess, you know. Before or after the daily bomb info, info bomb like this. That's how they know this, you know.

Funny that for all the less know, daily, they'll not stop knowing this.

Just to point out some clarity on the intentional typo. They're not ones doped about any of this.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

You think there is only one half person. Really, there's a lot more than that. It's odd.
