Clean my desk and my room a bit, then fix my third satelite dish because I can't get the Cyprus channels on Hellas sat 39E, pick one CD to listen and take my dog out for a walk.

Finish putting my ebike conversion kit on my mountain bike.
I have two broken lawn movers, which I'd fix.
I know nothing about lawn movers, so I think I could have a good time going through all the phases of hope, anger and eventually success.
Sleep. Oh, Jesus, sweet, sweet sleep!
Probably shave some yaks...
Us that a normal pastime for you?
How often do they need to be shaved?
It absolutely is. They usually come in dozens, are stubborn and hairy and stinky, and their hair regrows lightning fast.
Also, they're not literal yaks.
Ah, ok
You're not making got sound like a fun use of a holiday, lol
Eh, it's usually stuff that needs to be built/fixed in and around the house/garden. It's not too much fun while doing it, but the satisfaction when everything is done and progress is made and another corner of the house is new and shiny is oh so sweet.
I'm a writer as a hobby so I would probably write.
If I was at home I'd walk the dogs early, go to the range. When it got too hot to be outside, about 1pm, find something fun to do in the bedroom. Then ideally go out for dinner, or stay in and have a movie and pizza.
Where I am now, I'd want to be out and about first thing ... go for a walk in the city. Catch up with the ladies in the indoor market (thanks to google translate). Do some reading in a coffee shop during the hottest part if the day. In the evening I'd go to a bar and try to find someone to hang out with.
Edit: now I've written it out it all sounds pretty boring :-/
Play even more Zelda Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch.
I don't have a job so I just kind of sit around and do nothing. Doesn't help that I have ✨clinical depression✨.
Programming and playing games
Knocking some items off my never ending list of home projects.
I made some decent progress this weekend, knocked off a bunch of electric work, but I also added quiet a few things to the list.
Watching the massive amount of shows I need to catch up on
I did today. I'm on holiday and it was very hot.
- Got up really early and did a coast walk before it got too bad - and before too many people were around
- Full English at a cafe
- A bit of gaming
- Posted some stuff to Lemmy
- Read a few chapters
- Watched a film
What’s the book if you don’t mind me asking?
Smuggling Under Sail in the Red Sea by Henri De Monfreid at the moment. I didn't know what to expect of it, but it is really fascinating and atmospheric - as well as being as casually racist as you would expect of the 1920s.
I didn’t know what to expect of it What a great attitude to start a book with.
These are days to catch up on rest and peace. You have to take them when you can get them.
Lying around all day, been sick for 2 weeks. Mostly mild respiratory symptoms, but it gets worse at night. I’m wondering if it is mono but without the fatigue. The sore throat is the worst symptom. Both my daughters had it, one had it before me and one after, but have both recovered. I was exhausted today, but I think that was because I barely slept last night
Hope you feel better soon! Probably worth going to the doctor just to verify its not pneumonia or something, if you haven't already. It can get bad quick (see Kyle Busch's death this past week).
I'm sorry you're sick! I feel you on the no sleep though, shit is rough.
My brother and I have been completing old NES games that we never finished and sometimes never played before. I just started up Startropics for the first time.
Wish it didn't look and feel so jenky, but we'll see how it goes.
I fukken loved star tropics as a kid. If you don't have an instruction manual you're gonna have to look at a guide for one part though, there was a page you had to get wet to get a clue on how to progress.
That's a really creative way to make the game more immersive. Thanks for the info!
Went to the movies to see The Mandalorian and Grogu and had BBQ for lunch.
Great day.
What did you think? I am hearing mixed things.
Loved it.
Absolutely loved it. Planning to go see it again.
It's very summer blockbuster and almost all action, but if you enjoyed the show it's probably right up your alley.
It was meh. Like a couple of episodes glued together. The pacing was lethargic. Too many long establishing shots and shots of space craft landing or taking off. It just padded the runtime without providing anything. I was entertained, but I was also checking my watch. The most jarring was the voice of the Hutt speaking perfect dude english. It was like watching that seth rogan alien movie, Paul.
I played Cyberpunk 2077 for a long time.
That's a good looking day. Love that game.
Oh man, I really love it!
It's been raining. Taking the kayak to the local class III creek. Did that yesterday too. Gotta play while there is water.
Today was a holiday for me with no obligations! I went to the park for a walk and came home to spend hours working on hobby software dev work. Might make some food soon. Tomorrow I'll wake up and work on professional dev work. Save me...
Pentecost Monday is a holiday where I live. I binged almost an entire season of Game Changer and created my first Paralives household.
How is Paralives? I'm curious about it but am worried that genre just isn't for me. I want to like it though...
I haven't played much past creating characters and redesigning their home so if you want to know how the actual lifesim aspect feels, I would recommend the 45 minutes of gameplay video on the official channel.
That being said, the creative side is amazing. Even though you don't have as many clothing items and objects as Sims 4 has accumulated over the years, what you have is extremely flexible. Everything (skin, hair, clothes, furniture, walls, floors, ...) can be freely recolored, often with multiple color slots and patterns. Clothes can be layered so you can freely pick which jacket goes with which shirt - and of course you can color them separately. Furniture can be resized, often separately in different dimensions and they will procedurally adapt to those new dimensions. For example, two-seater and three-seater couches are the same item. Just make a two-seater a bit wider and a third seat appears.
I could go on but I guess you get the general idea.
There are a few bugs (most noticeably a broken animation when a Para gets up from sitting at a desk) but for an early access indie game it's already more stable than I would have expected.
Make some progress on my nth playthrough of Fallout 4. Draw an idea I have for my character persona. Clean the area outside. Make some BBQ wings. Finish some edits on my book at the library. Record my lines for my audiobook.
All I can think about is work.
I was lucky enough to have not just free time, but some rare time alone today. I watched Frieren, deep watered the baby veg that are still in pots, and went for a pokemon go walk.
It's memorial day in the US today. I spent the day playing stardew valley and RV there yet with my friends since we all have the day off work.
Well it's a bank holiday in the UK so most of us did.
I bought a 100L pool and a parasol, sat in the garden dipping my feet in cool water and drinking rum in the shade.
Apparently I'm removing old weed stumps in my back yard, lol.
Sitting in my room doing nothing because I am paralyzed by the sheer number of choices I have.
I’m just chilling at home all day. I was supposed to work on some new music but was too lazy. I have work again tomorrow so might as well make the most of my not doing anything.
One day is usually just enough for me to reclaim my energy. Realistically it’ll be sleeping in, a handful of chores, quality time with The Creature, and maybe catching up on a couple episodes of whatever show I’m into at the time. Maybe taking the time to cook myself a really nice meal too.
What I’d love to be doing, and frequently feel guilty for not doing, is either getting into the studio to work on some music, or getting out of the house and doing something outdoorsy. For that though, I usually need several days off and the chance to mood myself into doing it.
Ideally I'd draw all day. Realistically I'm too tired to do anything but scroll.
I had self directed time. moved over to a new (for me) laptop with bazzite on it. would have been much quicker except for a thing I thought was appimage but was chrome.
