Story time. I used to have a house adjacent to a school. The city threatened to use eminent domain to take and tear down several houses on the block to add more parking for the school. One block away from a huge parking lot that always had at least 10 times as many open spaces as they were intending to build. At the first public meeting, the first question was "Why can't people just park across the street?", at which point they admitted that nobody involved ever came to the school in person, or bothered to zoom out on a map, and they didn't know about it. The plan was promptly cancelled.

Not the main point, but wtf? How is the principal of the school not involved in this sort of decisionmaking?

I'm surprised they're so reasonable. They want to pave huge portions of my local park despite the presence of 3 parking lots already to make sure park visitors never have to walk from the parking lot to any amenity. It must be immediately adjacent.

What if someone gets sweaty, or starts panting? They could sue the city for millions! Millions!

You want to make them walk 50 metres? You monster.

Across a street!? Do you know how dangerous those are?

I feel this. I was kicked out my beautiful, affordable, nicely located brownstone apartment so the corporation masquerading as a hospital could build a parking ramp. Mind you they already had about three city blocks of parking lot they could have transitioned into a ramps.

Fuck em all. I hope they get incurable ass cancer.

Gotta love how they fearmonger about "socialists" and "communists" stealing your private property.

But hoo boy don't be where a capitalist needs to make money.

Ew reason TV and institute for justice collab?

Reason TV call Epstein files a "moral panic" and not a serious issue 😂😂😂

Reason TV is right in this aspect but I'm sure they are as pro car as anyone else on the right 😂

If we did it to places of burial we'll do it to your homes. My lust for parking lots can never be sated
