Even as a non American it scares me the kind of present the courts of America are setting. Yeah it's not my country, but there's plenty of places that'll look at America and follow their lead
Yeah, they didn't put it in the constitution probably because they thought clean water is a given. I'm sure they thought "nobody will be stupid enough to have to be told this is a human right".
Makes me wonder why we even bother with burying radioactive waste.
They didn’t put it in because the Constitution was written in 1789. Indoor plumbing didn’t even exist yet. “Clean water” was an abstract concept.
Water filtration existed in the 1700s. I think I read somewhere in europe had a patent for mechanical water filtration. So there was some concept of clean vs dirty water

Eh, not sure sure since they were drinking low % beer back then instead of water because it was safer.
They didn't put clean drinking water in the Constitution, because it didn't exist on a large scale yet.
And neither did industrial pollution

There should be inalienable rights and access to food and water should be part of it.
Im saying the Constitution is worthless if it doesnt obligate the government to keep its citizens alive. Clean drinking water is literally the most basic thing anyone can expect.
And what good is a Bill of Rights if the government can just ignore it?
