It sounds like Sony really doesn't want customers at all any more.
Sony image sensors and TV panels are some of the best. Everything else they touch is fucking garbage. It's amazing they have manged to stick around this long.

PlayStation ended with PS3 because that was last console that have not required PlayStation Plus to play online.
I've always thought that moving to the internet was the worst thing to happen to consoles. Now they have all the downsides of PC gaming, with all the downsides of console gaming.
They also removed other OS functionality after consoles went live and units were already sold. Glad I never bought one; it pushed me into PC gaming.
Unofficially you can run Linux on every PlayStation.

They're saying this because they know they can wipe their asses with customer complaints since those same customers will happily buy a ps5 if it meant playing gta6 at launch.
And they're probably right.
But I'm doing my part by not buying gta 6 until pc release and it's on sale.
The first few paragraphs basically describe a movement within Japan because entitled (mostly middle-aged and older men, but not exclusively) fuckheads were screaming at staff, forcing them to prostrate themselves on the ground and apologize, and even becoming physically violent. Signs have been up for years about physically abusing station staff and it has continued from there. Just to give some cultural background on that one. Fuck Sony.
Yes, nobody should be harassing customer service employees. They are not the ones who made this decision and aren't able to change it.
Edit: Nvm, read the first couple of paragraphs and yeah, it was over-entitled customers taking their Twitter rage offline and taking it out on innocent Sony staff. What the actual fuck?

Just get a PC at that point if its digital.
Ask a PC gamer to make it as much as a console experience for you as possible if that is what you need.
We've already cracked PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP emulation, as well. I'm not saying PlayStation game developers don't deserve supportbut they're choosing not to sell games anymore by not providing physical media: you don't own digital copies in the store.
If purchasing isn't owning, piracy isn't theft.
I honestly cannot believe that despite Microsoft's fuckups with XBox that instead it's PlayStation losing the Console War harder.

Yes, according to the article. Also if what is written is true, I don’t find it unreasonable.
Even if one does not agree with Sony’s new policy, taking it out on their support is not OK.
I they don't want it taken out on their support, then they need to make the decision makers available to receive the rightful backlash as they should have in the first place.
Regardless of right or wrong, angry people are going to take it out on the people closest to the source of the anger they can get to.
They can do what they want, I'm not a member.

I've been using Sony products my whole life, not anymore. Sometimes you have to have principles.

I have a lot of Sony gear; I've been really happy with the quality.. but I'll look elsewhere as they have been self-destructing as a company for a while now. I know their TVs are going to be crappier than they have been, because they stopped making them themselves. Probably the audio gear will be next.

The translation is most likely correct and references a Japanese custom.
