He got with a minor but I don’t think it was rape, still a very bad and stupid thing but she was flaunting how she fucked him on social media so i highly doubt he’s a rapist lmao

Honestly I’m leaning Chet. I know there’s more pressure on Wemby to score so he has to shoot the ball a lot more, but he’s just not that efficient. Meanwhile Chet is much more efficient.

Both players average very similar stats, with Wemby averaging 19/9/2 with 2.6 blocks and 1 steal per game, and Chet averaging 17/8/2 with 2.3 blocks and 1.1 steals.

But the two main differences between them is that Chet is much more efficient and that his team is 2nd in the west, which is a big improvement since last year. The Spurs meanwhile are still dead last just like last year.

It’s obviously too early, but so far I think Chet is looking like the better player. What do you guys think?

Both players are excellent scorers and rebounders. Jokic is the better playmaker, but giannis blows Jokic out of the water when their defenses are compared.

Not only that, but does Jokic have a Fortnite skin? I don’t think so. If you have your own fucking fortnite skin, how can your dominance be disputed? Well actually it can’t.

Giannis>Jokic

Let the man complain he got his team stolen from him lmao

It’s all just narratives. It’s not about who’s the best, it’s about who the voters think deserves to be the “next best player”. Even if Curry or an older player is playing really well, they get no recognition because it’s “not their turn”.

It’s like the league decides “alright which person should we choose next to win it, but even if they’re really good they can’t win it more than twice in a row because after that someone else should get a chance.”

The only guy recently other than LeBron who could have won more than two was Jokic, until the media decided to call the voters racist, making Embiid the frontrunner. Don’t get me wrong, I think Embiid was the superior player when you count his defense, but he shouldn’t have won because of anti-racism. It’s about talent, not race, not who’s turn it is, etc.

And just look at the MVP ladder now. 1st is Jokic, followed by Luka, Embiid, Tatum, and Shai. Now don’t get me wrong, they’re all great players, and I don’t have a big problem with the top 3. But no way am I taking Tatum or Shai over Curry and Giannis or maybe even KD, who aren’t even on the list at all. The next five are Ant, Halliburton, Maxey, Bam, and Sabonis.

Bias aside, would any of you take any of those last 5 over AD, LeBron, Steph, Giannis, or KD? Maybe, but probably not.

But apparently in the NBA, talent shouldn’t be given recognition unless you’re under 30.

I mean it’s still possible, but you can only lose 4 more games then lmao

I feel like when a franchise wins a championship for the first time or in a really long time, all the fans become delusional and start believing they’re the next dynasty and that everyone else in the league is screwed (I speak from experience in 2021). Nuggets fans especially lol

The nuggets are great and all, but does anyone see them winning a chip next year? Although their run was very impressive last year, they did run through mainly play-in teams which no doubt made it easier, but typically stuff like that has to happen for a team to win a chip. It’s usually not all skill, there has to be some luck mixed in somewhere (the Kawhi game winner in 2019, KD’s big feet in 2021, etc.) unless you’re the dynasty warriors or 90’s bulls or something.

I’m really liking how LaMelo is playing right now

What did we do to deserve this fate?

Have your star brag about he was “fine in the west” then pull a gun twice along with other shenanigans

How the hell were we championship-caliber when we went out in the 1st round? To an 8th seed?

And we are 6-1 I believe with Dame.. that’s really great considering we just traded for him less than 2 months ago (lack of chemistry). And before you mention defense, we’re 6th in defensive rankings. With two top-5 scorers from last year..

[–] gymtime69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why call it the in-season tournament when it’s the beginning-season tournament? This thing started practically the day the NBA started their regular season.. isn’t the idea to keep fans from losing interest mid-season? Why not have it around at least December instead?

Every time a Denver player makes a shot in the close game, they go “OHHH, [Nuggets Player] MAKES THE SHOT!” or “THERES STILL HOPE!”

Then whenever the Pels come back and make a shot, they sit there in silence lmao.

It’s funny how different local broadcasting organizations have such different levels of bias. Bally has some but not much at all, NBC is pretty biased, but based off the last quarter of this nuggets game I’d definitely say Altitude Sports is one of the most biased broadcasts.

I get that most of the fans aren’t as into the game as the people in this sub, but seriously? Especially as a Bucks fan I’ve been hearing complaints nonstop about “no defense” “this isn’t a championship team” etc. Maybe they’re right, or maybe it’s that we made a late trade for a superstar and chemistry hasn’t been established.

And I’ve heard stuff like this being said about other teams too. I get that it’s routine but who in their right mind assumes how a season is going to go based off of a few games? Last season Portland went 4-0 and the Hawks were looking great, and they both missed the playoffs. In the 2022 season the Celtics had a terrible start but made it to the finals. Just last year the lakers made it to the WCF as a play-in team. Hell, then Miami made it to the finals against the Nuggets, which no one could have ever predicted.

The league is impossible to predict, so let’s keep stop freaking out about one game and move on..

I would rather watch basketball without any refs at this point

Giannis stared down an opposing player for literally half a second after a major dunk. Then he was given his second tech and ejected.

A bad call is one thing. There’s a lot happening on the court and it’s hard to make sure you make the right calls, but this is blatant abuse of power.

The ref gives Giannis a tech, Giannis asks the ref what he did wrong, and the ref walks away in a pout, completely ignoring Giannis, until he turns around and aggressively points at the exit telling Giannis to get off the court.

How can you let such a biased referee stay in the league? He needs to be fired NOW and the NBA needs to make an apology to fans, the bucks, and Giannis.

Bally has been down for days, I can’t even fathom how a company can just be content with not being able to provide their customers with their services.

On top of this, there’s always been the problem of blacked out games. Half the games you can’t even watch because of your location, or you have to pay for multiple subscriptions which most people aren’t willing to do.

It’s just so ridiculous, I can’t believe the NBA thinks putting a stupid in season tournament is gonna fix anything. In my opinion it’s a stupid idea in itself, but even if it were stellar it wouldn’t make a difference since the core of the declining viewership issue is that no one wants to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars a year on watching NBA games (unless you’re a diehard fan), only to be able to watch some games.

Just ridiculous. I’m sick of this shit. Genuinely considering cancelling all my memberships and watch everything on crappy piracy networks just because I don’t feel like giving a dollar to this shitty company.

Portland started 4-0 last year

I haven’t heard serious talk about shortening the season, but I have heard discussions about it.

But instead of considering shortening the season, why not space it out more?

The reason coaches and players have talked about shortening the season is so players wouldn’t need to rest as much and injury could be prevented. But in my opinion, spacing the NBA season out more would theoretically be much more beneficial without cutting out any games.

Players would have more times to rest, and wouldn’t have to worry about playing so many games back to back. There are some weeks when teams play 5 out of 7 days which is just ridiculous, especially when the games are long and exhausting.

On top of all that, for NBA fans who enjoy watching more teams play than just their own, they would be able to tune into more games. There are days where you’ll have 10 matchups in an evening, and you can’t watch 2 games at once. If the season were spaced out more, these NBA fans could get to watch more games.

But I also feel like spacing out the games more would get more casual fans watching too. If there’s 4 or 5 games in one week, casual fans won’t be concerned about missing a game because they can tune into the next one a day or two later. But if you make the games more rare, fans would be more incline to tune in since the next game may not be for another few days.

Really the only cons of this idea are:

  1. Diehard fans wouldn’t be able to watch their favorite teams as much (in the short term of course)

  2. Fans might get tired of a “dragged out” season

I would prefer if games were spaced out a bit more than now, me personally. It really sucks when your team is exhausted from playing a bunch of games and they have to play a team that isn’t. I also like watching other teams play, so as I mentioned before sometimes I have to choose between two games to decide which one I’d rather watch. Also having the regular season go from the middle of October to let’s say late April or early-mid May on top of having the playoffs would be awesome. But I could see how people would disagree with me.

This is all just my imagination though. There’s practically a 0% probability the NBA changes how their games are scheduled, whether there be less games or less frequency of them.

This is a really stupid idea. No other sports do it like this. The idea of a foul is to disincentivize fouling.. it’s completely fair to get free throws if you’re fouled.

Plus what happens if you’re Giannis and get fouled under the rim? Or on the other side of the court when you’re in the bonus? Do you just have to chuck the ball across the entire court for each free throw?

This just overcomplicates basketball.

I always see people in comment sections saying “they aren’t world champions” “they’re nba champions” because the only team in the NBA outside of the US is the Toronto Raptors.

But then let me ask you this. If the NBA championship shouldn’t be called a “world championship”, why is it that all foreigners come to play in the US, and not their own country?

Many NBA players play in Europe or other countries before joining the NBA as a step to them joining the league, like Patrick Beverly. He only resorted to playing in Europe because he couldn’t play in the NBA.

And then there’s the washed up NBA players who aren’t good enough to play in the NBA, so they resort to playing in foreign leagues instead—and still manage to be the best or one of the best options on the team.

No NBA player ever leaves the league to go play in a different country unless they have to. All talented basketball stars know that if they want a serious career in basketball, they have to come over and play in the NBA. Victor, Giannis, Luka, Jokic.. the list goes on and on.

And I’m willing to bet that if no NBA players played on opposing teams during the Olympics, the USA team would have won easily. Ironic how everyone laughed at the US after losing to teams that were being carried by literal NBA players.

So why shouldn’t it be called a world championship? The NBA is by far the most prestigious and talented league in the world. It’s not even remotely close. The people who cry about it not being a world championship are the same people who hate America for a burning passion because they have nothing else to do with their lives.

Who. Fucking. Cares. So he liked some stupid joke. Can’t we talk about actual news? I’m a bucks fan and hate the Celtics and am watching their game right now just so I can root for them to lose, but still. This is dumb.

[–] gymtime69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not sure if he counts as a role player, but maybe Marcus Smart for the Bucks. He’s a solid defender and can score when need be, and he could serve as a replacement for Holiday. A starting lineup of Dame, Smart, Middleton, Giannis, and Brook would be lethal.

[–] gymtime69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (6 children)

Right, that’s what I’m trying to say. What’s the alternative? Miss the playoffs? The east got better and the heat got worse. Heat were the 8th seed last year, I highly doubt their standings will improve without action. Harden isn’t a great option but it’s the best option.

Phili was willing to trade Harden to the Clippers in return for Terrance Mann and a few picks, which is an insane deal, but even more insane is that the Clips refused the deal.

Harden is great on offense which is exactly what Miami needs. He’s no Damien Lillard, but right now that’s about as close as you’re gonna get. I think Harden would also mesh well, since he would be #1 or #2 scoring option, when he’d be a solid third in LA.

Harden could be a pain to deal with in the future, but if the Heat can somehow get away with giving up Duncan Robinson and few picks for Harden that would be a great deal for the Heat. I’m sure Pat Riley could pull it off, since the 76ers seem pretty desperate.

But who knows, the Heat already fumbled two stars so they could definitely screw up squiring Harden if they tried I’m sure lmao.
