Damn a restaurant I like is on this stupid site. It's surprising because most of the stuff in my area that's on here is like realtors, explicitly right wing businesses with patriot in the name, or like when you go in there it's all thin blue line flags and shit. This is just a normal restaurant with normal decor. I'm not really surprised the owners are apparently Trumpy, pretty much all the business owners in my area are, I'm just surprised to see them on this site

Go fash, lose cash.

Complete tangent:

“PublicSquare is basically the Green Book, but for conservatives,” this TikTok user, who goes by dapper.delinquent, says in his video. “The Green Book was a book passed around Black communities that was a list of stores and businesses that were safe for Black People to use. PublicSquare is the same thing for conservatives.”

If you make an analogy, then have to explain the thing you are comparing the first thing with, what is the point of the analogy?

Full on ROFL.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago

Hah! I appreciate them making it easy on me. Mostly just real estate offices on it near me.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 21 points 14 hours ago

wake up honey, new BDS list just dropped.

but seriously I like that there's a list of "maga friendly businesses"... because up until now the fascism has been too subtle.

Suspicion of "gang related" seems to be the excuse they use to deport the quickest.

[–] Saledovil@sh.itjust.works 22 points 14 hours ago

I have communed with the dead, and they told me that there's gang related activity happening in those businesses.

I wanted a similar site but to track houses with Trump signs up. Have to upload pictures for the record, and cross referenced with MLS listings/sales so everything is expunged on property transfer.

No particular reason to keep this info around. Just a curiosity.

[–] MdPhoenix@lemm.ee 26 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

That would drive them absolutely batshit insane

[–] brognak@lemm.ee 18 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

In my head I called it The Scarlet Letter and the logo was a giant red burning T.

Not that I have put thought into it or anything 😅

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 12 points 16 hours ago

Burning T...

Time... Time to go...

Public square.com is the name of this website

[–] CptOblivius@lemmy.world 11 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Scheele's, a big sporting good store, is on there. I switched to other options.

Looks like it's just one particular Scheels that's on there. I'd guess the franchisee is a dickhead, not the overall corporation (any more than corporations are usually dickheads anyway).

My local Scheels is not on there. In fact, relatively few local businesses are, which is surprising since I live in a pretty red state (though the city is pretty purple, and only getting bluer as time goes on).

[–] Azal@pawb.social 5 points 14 hours ago

Well... fuck.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 10 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Why is HitlerPig Jr in the photo? Is he promoting his MAGA cocaine dealer?

[–] EpeeGnome@lemm.ee 3 points 18 hours ago

A plausible guess, but the article says he's on the website's board of directors.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 99 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Well shit. The landscaping company we signed up for this year is a MAGAt apparently. I'll be shopping for a different company now.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 21 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Make sure you tell them why you're firing them, and post a review on their Google page. Dont mention the quality of the service, just that you dropped them for their treasonous support of MAGA Nazis.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 21 points 17 hours ago (5 children)

I'm on the fence about telling them why. I have zero faith that losing me as a customer will make them reconsider their political position even if it would make me feel better. What it may do it make them remove their add from the MAGAt site meaning we lose the warning signal to others.

As far as leaving reviews pointing out there MAGAness, I'm in a red state and that may help them. They love their martyrs, so I'm definitely skipping that step.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Yah, it isn't like they're going to say "Oh no! We lost a customer. I'm having an ethical dilemma now."

I'm gonna guess that lots of landscapers are maga.

[–] timeghost@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

It makes sense, as MAGA are the human equivalent of leafblowers: loud, obnoxious, spew shit for miles in all directions, and serve no discernible purpose except to make the world worse for everyone around them...

Their statement on being a press conference venue for the Trump administration was that their business was not supporting anyone in particular, but was thrilled to be part of the democratic process. The tone this statement was said in led me to believe that they were also thrilled to facilitate Trump's goons making a hilarious fuck-up.

[–] egrets@lemmy.world 15 points 23 hours ago

Nah, that's a conference venue. You're thinking of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center & Fairgrounds in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

Am I using this app correctly? I’m confused

[–] nulluser@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (2 children)

As a consumer, PublicSquare’s website is easy to use. You just enter your ZIP code

Where? In the search box I just get a few products that happen to have my zip code in their description (not as a zip, but as a product number or something). Other comments here mention a map, but I'm not seeing that.

Edit: Found it. It's really buried.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 3 points 13 hours ago

That site's UX is a steaming pile of shit.

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 4 points 17 hours ago

They changed it (uncertain when) after a lot of publicity.
