Well... if you look a the history of the US you COULD argue that most of its inhabitants are offspring of illegal immigrants, sooo....
I can't get over just how short sighted MAGA is... They give the president this power like it will never be used against them by the next Democrat president.
You think that after the changes made to the voting systems, the SAVE voting act, the firing of people at CISA responsible for election safety and security, and the migration of the voting devices to Starlink (even with orage mussilini and muskrat falling out) that there's ever going to be a Democratic president again? I wish I had your optimism. That's if a state of emergency/war isn't called that halts all elections, which is far more likely to be what happens.
Plus, the Democrats will just play good and "not stoop to the opposition's level", letting them just get creamed and steamrolled again in the following election, even if they do somehow manage to win. The Democrats had a chance to fight facism and they welcomed it with open arms. Without turning over nearly the entirety of the party, why does anyone think anything is ever going to change?
The supreme court gave total immunity to the president while Biden was president. He didn't use it a single time.
Like how Biden had Trump killed in 2024.
If democrats ever had a candidate willing to whip his balls out and do something aggressively for a change.
You think the democrats would actually do that? They’d make a big deal about how they won’t do that, because they are cowards. The only spine they ever grow is when their corporate owners tell them to. Other than that, they care about nothing but maintaining the status quo.

Funny thing is. Republicans allow their red-ass state legislatures to gerrymander their districts, while democrats act so high and nobel implementing their "non-partisan" commissions to "draw fair districts".
The house is forever skewed in favor of the right wing unless democrats play dirty and also gerrymander the shit out of those seats.
They tried in New York the last time the maps were redrawn. If Dems really wanted to gerrymander New York, they could likely win every single district.
The courts shot that one down, and now New York is just heavily favored to Dems. The House would be majority Dems right now if not for that alone.

I'm in my forties, and it just feels like we've been constantly losing ground since Obama left office, I'm just so frustrated by all of the apathy, corruption, and dishonesty, and have been since 2015.
same. add to that, that everyone i try to talk to about this would rather pretend it's somehow going to get better, or that somehow "the law" will catch up to these fascists and stop them in their tracks.

But I thought they were only going after people in the country illegally, I thought they were okay with immigration as long as they followed legal processes (sarcasm)
They even made us memorize this one in grade school:

Note that this says nothing about having to be a citizen for this to apply to you, either. And while we're at it, see also this.
Well you see, congress isn't making a law, the executive branch is just doing blatantly illegal shit with impunity, because congress is full of spineless coward sellouts
They are just imagining they will wield that power someday so they don't want to rock the boat.
They are all temporarily embarrassed ruling party. Otherwise they would want to remove or restrict these powers. This did not happen overnight either.
We have known for several decades now the extreme problems with executive overreach. The President should be a figured head only and Congress should increase in size and do its job.
This is blatant corruption and a dereliction of their duty. It really is disgusting to see how little regard these jokers have for their positions. Electing a literal carnival barker and giving his team of racist rejects the keys to the country is mind bogglingly stupid.

Lmao... Benefits? What exactly are those benefits? Not being on the receiving end of a bombing? Not having our country destabilized by a narcissist (we don't even get that benefit anymore). Having healthcare taken away? A secret police force take you away for wrongthink? Lol benefits of being an American....
