Last gasp push to consolidate the Cuomo vote?

I hope Mamdani enjoys his new job.

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 6 points 7 hours ago

I feel he would need 24/7 security though.

[–] bunjiman@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

It's too late for Adams to be removed from the ballot lol

[–] SlartyBartFast@sh.itjust.works 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

How did he drop "out"? Did he have some in his pocket, went the get his keys, and the whole shebang just fell at once? That's rough, man

He finally tuned in and turned on.

[–] GissaMittJobb@lemmy.ml 10 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

They'd have to consolidate all other votes behind Cuomo to even have a chance, looking at the latest polling.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 9 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

LoL, that's assuming the people who were going to vote for Adams are going to vote for Cuomo and not Sliwa. Adam's was saved from prosecution by Trump and had his endorsement. No liberal worth anything would have been planning yo vote for him.

[–] GissaMittJobb@lemmy.ml 3 points 11 hours ago

I'm not saying it's likely by any means - quite the opposite. Managing to gather the voters of all those other candidates under one banner is probably not going to happen

[–] peaceful_world_view@lemmy.world 13 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Press full flush, shit be gone

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 hours ago

Flush twice, that was a big nasty one that fouled the bowl.

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 138 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Adams’ name will still be on ballots this fall, since he exited the race after a deadline to print them.

That's funny. Every vote for Adams will be a mistake, as was always the case.

I imagine that he's currently having a cry about what stephen miller's wife's bagman has told him the regime wants him to do next.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

What a poopy doodoohead

[–] notannpc@lemmy.world 15 points 20 hours ago

He should go to prison where he belongs anyway.

[–] sploosh@lemmy.world 104 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So Trump's giving him a job?

[–] notsure@fedia.io 86 points 1 day ago (1 children)

...now it is David vs Goliath...I hope Zohran wipes the floor with Cuomo...

[–] mcv@lemmy.zip 8 points 12 hours ago

He's done it once before.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago

"the price is finally right", said Adams, probably.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 54 points 1 day ago (2 children)

On the one hand, fuck adams. On the other, I appreciated him splitting the idiot and asshole votes between him and cuomo.

[–] Tujio@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago (1 children)

His name will still be on the ballot, so he'll probably leach some of the idiot vote, still.

[–] Poppa_Mo@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

Don't fret, there's still venn diagram overlap with idiot AND asshole.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

This is the only reason I'm a bit upset he dropped out.

Good, fuck that Republican.

[–] yonderbarn@lazysoci.al 56 points 1 day ago

Good fucking riddance

[–] Dionysus@leminal.space 12 points 22 hours ago (2 children)
[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 2 points 7 hours ago

NatGuard in NYC in 3..2..

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Oh oh. It's happening. They're consolidating. Expect a huge October surprise. And if nothing else works, Kirking the leading candidate.

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

Doing Security Work my coworker asked if I Charlie Kirked the homeless man I removed from property. This was like a day after it happened, fucking hilarious

[–] SanctimoniousApe@lemmings.world 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Geez, and here I thought I was being pessimistic. Thanks for the new verb, tho!

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

You either laugh, or you cry. And I'm getting real tired of crying for two years, the constant panic attacks, and heart attacks at night.

The only problem I have with this is that he was providing some (admittedly minimal) dilution to the Cuomo opposition. Now Cuomo can market his gain as "increasing support" for his policies.

In the end I don't think it will matter, but we still are yet to hit the usual "October surprise" period so I don't like to get cocky.

[–] Atropos@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago

Hahaha, get fucked you corrupt trash can of a person

[–] TheCelticPirate@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

The check cleared.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Now, watch him endorse Sliwa instead of Mamdami. What a scumbag.

[–] chilicheeselies@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Mamdani and Sliwa are the only two adults in the race.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I suppose Sliwa is “technically” an adult, but so am I. That doesn’t qualify me to be mayor of New York City.

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 5 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I have no idea who you are and I'm pretty sure you'd be a better mayor than Adams was

[–] blave@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

And I’m sure you would too. But that doesn’t make either of us qualified to be New York City mayor, either.

In fact, I know well enough that I would never ever want that job. It obviously is a fucking nightmare.

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 3 points 21 hours ago

Get rekt, Adams. I hope you end up as ambassador to South Sudan.

[–] Draegur@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago

Yeah it's about time this ratfuck scumbag fuck off back to the cesspit he crawled out of.
