Mobilize the youth to support genocide?

[–] A_Chilean_Cyborg@feddit.cl 4 points 21 minutes ago* (last edited 19 minutes ago)

gen Z

the 6-7 meme slop.

Is like when oled people don't realize they're milennial.

Gen Z are who we are in our 20's or like 17 at the minimum, Gen A is whom you call kids.

Glad I'm not from the US so i don't have to cringe over this lol.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

I'm fucking embarrassed and I'm not even gen z.

[–] GuyIncognito@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 hours ago

Brat summer y'all!!

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

This is so cringe it hurts. And I'm Gen-X.

Of course I despise this whole pointless 67 thing so maybe it will kill it.

At least my generation's pointless fascination with numbers actually related to something.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Finally now when people say "6 7" I can ask if they're talking about this thinktank bullshit

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 12 points 9 hours ago

Thank you Kamala for finally killing this whole 6 7 thing.

[–] DrDickHandler@lemmy.world 9 points 9 hours ago

Fuck off Kamala.

[–] pachrist@lemmy.world 27 points 12 hours ago

This is a "Pokémon go to the polls," vibe. Not a compliment.

[–] chellewalker@lemmy.ca 20 points 11 hours ago

Damn, I guess that's how the Dems will manage to lose their electoral goodwill.

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 16 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

She can't even tell the difference between Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

Good thing is, this bullshit of hers may kill 67 hype for good.

[–] MyTurtleSwimsUpsideDown@fedia.io 6 points 12 hours ago

These trends only last 6-7 months anyway.

[–] Kushan@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not sure I can tell the difference between Gen z and Gen alpha, the lines are pretty blurry with these "generations".

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 4 points 36 minutes ago

Easy.

Gen Z folks are in their 20s. They're either in college or already in the workforce.

Gen Alpha folks are still in grade school.

Lemme ask you this: have you ever seen a college kid making that 67 reference?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 17 points 13 hours ago

Poochie is rad to the max.

[–] Paranoidfactoid@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I voted for her in 24 and I was glad to. I'm sorry she lost. But I don't think it's wise she run for President again in 28. Governor of California? Great. Let California decide. But the stakes are too high for the Presidency.

[–] kofe@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

If we had a fair primary process, one where funding/media coverage wasn't deliberately skewed like in 2016, I wouldn't mind her running. I need to fact check myself on the details here, though — can't remember if it was media coverage and funding or just media coverage in particular biasing Clinton

Ninja edit: ok there was some fuckery for sure, but I didn't realize the votes were so heavily favoring Clinton. Either way, that's what primaries are for. I'd rather have Harris over Newsome, personally

[–] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 8 points 10 hours ago

Yeah, these dumbasses still haven’t realized that they can’t do this shit themselves. Someone should tell them they have to pay other people to do it while pretending they’re not affiliated.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 3 points 10 hours ago

O_O

How... Fucking... out of touch... Could you get...

[–] ThanksObama@sh.itjust.works 13 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Go away. You are part of the problem. Both you and Gavin can go fuck right off.

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 1 points 5 hours ago

She's not nearly as bad as Gavin.

Her and Biden's admin was full of LGBT Cabinet members and they protected gah marriage.

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 18 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

I'm pushing towards 50 and this feels cringe to me. So logically this should be the coolest thing ever for the kids, right?

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 39 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I liked it a lot more when she was shutting the fuck up

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

Prepare yourself for three more years of this crap until she loses again.

"Let's YEET out the republicans"

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 1 points 14 minutes ago

That one I’m ok with.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

I was going to add this, and also "Why does she look like Lucielle Bluth?"

[–] 58008@lemmy.world 18 points 17 hours ago

Because 'Headquarters 69' would be too cringe, fr fr no cap.

[–] karashta@piefed.social 23 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Shut your stupid face and crawl back into your AIPAC hole, you worthless piece of corporate Democratic trash.

[–] Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world 9 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Her Newsome and buttigege are all literally the same POS corporate democrat. A DINO

[–] hector@lemmy.today 7 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Newsome and Pritzker had their chance in 2024 and declined to take the nomination, there for the taking.

What is wrong with the party, we have zero challenges? Only token challenges for president by an old leftist, that still almost wins. No challenges for house or senate. Then 2024 not a single challenge for the top spot, 4 plus months to go, proposed anointee the most unpopular person possible, that never breached 30% approval for a deeply unpopular administration at 40% approval for 3 years.

Then didn't see fit to offer any reform running as that deeply unpopular status quo. No health care, no drugs, no calling out business interests openly cheating us. Broad empty platitudes, we aren't the republicans.

Everyone in the party needs to be replaced with maybe a few exceptions. They were chosen to be weak, chosen because the donors fear someone taking back the license they've corruptly garnered through captured government, fear a populist government would modestly impair their record profits from their companies.

Gen Z? I though this was more of a Gen alpha thing
6️⃣🤷‍♂️7️⃣

[–] shneancy@lemmy.world 18 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

the same thing happened to millennials. they got blamed for being stupid teenagers when they were in their mid twenties. it seems it takes about a generation for the old folks to catch up what's the new word for the youths nowadays, by then it's often barely accurate anymore

[–] gigachad@piefed.social 10 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

The generational concept is also a bit weird, like if huge waves of children would be born every 10 years lol

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

Well, there was after WWII. And a smaller wave when boomers came of age. Though boomers have been trying to shoehorn us into generational boxes ever since.

Alright, so 6 7 is officially uncool.

[–] Bustedknuckles@lemmy.world 9 points 16 hours ago

My primary schooler is already tired of it and has moved on. I patiently await the next silly fad

Oh my god fuck all the way off, Harris. You’re bad at this. You’re not the leader we need, now or ever.

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

She'll do

Purity Tests are cringe af

Let her organize grassroots so you can complain about whatever the lawn produces because the alternative is an oil spill.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 1 points 44 minutes ago (1 children)

No.

She was one of the central players that lost the Republic. I don’t ever want to see her fucking face again in politics.

She was a bad candidate in 2016 and 2020, and she was demonstrably a catastrophic choice in 2024. And by that I mean her lack of backbone in standing up to monied interests shows that she entirely lacks the grit and will that our current era demands. Too much compromise with the neoliberals and hypercapitalists, not enough listening to actually fucking citizens and lived experience. Walz was the brightest spot in her campaign. And then she and the DNC muzzled him, with predictable results.

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 1 points 35 minutes ago

There are no "good candidates", the central players that defeated the Republic are the collaborative efforts of a group of billionaires and foreign dictatorships turning social media against democracy. Any progressive candidate will face the same uphill battle and the nation will slide further into conservative autocracy unless we do something to stop it.
