Fun fact, back when Pakistan gained independence, its capital was actually Karachi, which was and still is the largest city in Pakistan.
Recently during the tons of document drops by the US Government, it came out that the CIA's foreign HQ for Pakistan was set up in Rawalpindi, which is where the Pakistani Army HQ was stationed, and is where they built the adjacent city of Islamabad which became the new capital.
It was the one of only a handful of maybe 5-6 cities that had a CIA command center not stationed in the nation's captial lol.

Recently the quokkas evolved to use tools and they've become quite skilled with switch blades. Now it's not just the drop bears, you have to watch out for quokkas sneaking up behind you and cutting the tendons in your legs with a poisoned blade.

Alright, this isn't really the point, but I've seen multiple times in the last day people using "f" instead of "ph" for any -phile word. Is there something going on with that, or is this just apophenia?

Dear Quincy, popsicles. Specifically the ones called "Italian ice".
Popsicles really are great for being sick with sore throat. They are full of salt and sugar to help get you hydrated and have electrolytes (salt). The coldness helps sooth inflammation.
I stock up on them every summer so I have some for winter cold season.
But they are in stores now. The Italian ice ones seem better because they are a consistent slushy. Whereas the other brands are solid ice.
They are also cheap. Less than $2 for a box.
Also last time I was sick my throat hurt so bad. I went to Dr and they told me to use Flonase. I was like. It's my throat. Not my nose that's in pain. But it's the drip from the nose that causes the throat to hurt. So I got Flonase. Followed the instructions. And my throat stopped hurting within a few hours.
Get some Flonase.
Interesting… I never thought about this but the Middle East are insane about drugs. Cut off your hand type penalties. And maybe this is because they are religious. Or maybe it’s because the oil trafficking cartels (aka their governments) don’t want the competition of drug trafficking cartels. It’s the same reason that some dictators have banned religion: they don’t want any other institutions with power around that they don’t control.
Afghanistan used to be a major heroin producer. So much so that in the 90s, the Taliban gained a lot of local goodwill and support by driving out the poppy plantations and replacing them with wheat. When the US invaded, a lot of those former drug lords became officials in the occupational government, and heroin production skyrocketed again.
The reductive take was that we invaded for oil. But we didn't, it was so we could move crazy amounts of narcotics through Fort Bragg.
