Lol. Like they don't already have more voting power.
The problem he sees is that the rest of us still have some.
Not unlike their financial situation
Not quite. Wyoming has more voting power. They have more buying power. Their votes have zero impact on outcomes, but cash they possess does.
I have an idea. How about world put all wealthy people in one small country for wealthy people. If you cross certain wealth you are put into this country that you can't escape. There are not other people there and you need to manage all your life only with wealthy people around. There will be no import and no export from this country, no currency exchange but cameras all over the place so we can all see how wealthy people are capable to manage.
Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.
Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but trillionaires should be forced to transition into billionaires, and billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.
Cool, as long as we’re moving away from one person, one vote, I say we should give billionaires zero and everyone else a hundred. Or we could do it by net worth (ending at 0, no fuckery with debt so that millionaires are poorer than hobos) so that the people the most fucked over get the most say on what should change.
This isnt going to work out like you imagine....
One billionaire with zero votes can just post some AI disinfo and sway 100 idiots who now have 100 votes...
People routinely vote against their own interests, and poor people hurt themselves the most...
I mean, temporarily embarrassed millionaires....
So? That already exists in the one person, one vote system. You think giving billionaires one less vote will make them not do AI propaganda?
Note: I think the one person, one vote system is best. I’m saying if we move away from it then billionaires should have significantly less say than they already do, not more.
So? That already exists in the one person, one vote system.
You're literally proposing to give 100x more voting power to the people being influenced by billionaire propaganda.... that is absolutely NOT what already exists today
If everyone except billionaires has 100 votes, then everyone (except billionaires) has an equally weighted vote.
Again, this is not the system I want. I think one person, one vote is best. But if we’re altering the deal, fuck billionaires, you get no vote.
E: sorry for the comment spam, I was getting errors that said the comment wasn’t made when it actually was.

I say we make it a felony with a mandatory minimum 20 year sentence to even be a billionaire.
Or we could, hear me out here, just have a sensible tax code?
This is my vote. I don't know why the tax rate stops at 50%. Making your second million is easier than your first million, you should take home less of it. IMHO it should approach 100% as you make more and more. And the more money that you have the less valuable it is to you so we can put it to better uses for the society.
Nah, addicts shouldn't be put in jail. Billionaires are just addicted to money hoarding and should go to mandatory rehab.
At a cost of 15% of their net worth per day, 1 week minimum stay. At day 7 they'd still have $320M left if they started with exactly $1B. Probation is your net worth must not climb more than 10% higher than it was when you were released or else another 7 days. If you can maintain <$100M for 10 years your probation is lifted, but your record stays. Future convictions increase the minimum rehab stay by 7 days each.
Rehab is them having to watch shows all day about all the poor people getting their money and what they're doing with it. They can even sit in a comfy chair and be served nice food while they do it.
I like how you think. Have an upvote.
This piece of shit has a very punchable face and I for one would love the honour to punch it, repeatedly.
Oligarchs of all shapes and sizes can fucking die. They bring nothing of value to humanity, well I guess they all have punchable faces.
Yeah but that’s only good for something when if they get punched in the face. That doesn’t happen enough.
I support taking away his money
I support taking away his lungs.
I am more interested in his ribs not much a fan of lung meat.
Glad I never have, and now for sure never will, used Shopify.
If you’ve bought anything online or in a store, there’s a decent chance you have though ☹️
URL structure is a clue, and of course a Shop Pay icon.
I think it's funny how all companies immediately shifted from customer-facing to business and wealthy investors as their new customers. They don't care about us at all, only that their stock goes up. A massive amount of former consumers are effectively broke, so businesses are relying on each other to boost their stocks. Not sure how that plays out long-term.
About as well as a swarm of locusts turning to cannibalism after all the plants are eaten.
Just saying it out loud now.
he's been saying it for a while, I got the big sad because I was using them over paypal, now i'm like one is American and one is a Canadian cooker
it was the best of times, it was the blurst of times
Talk to the Canadians running businesses sith Shopify. I have a few that have agreed to E-Transfer instead of online payment. That way I get to skip the technofeudalism and they get to skip the fees.
Just common sense innit? You've got more money, you get more votes. It's practically a law of nature. Trying to enforce some other system would be going against the natural order of things. It's the best way to maximise shareholder value.
