This actually is anti-ai reading the article?

Its literally a joke about mailing piss to your "favorite" data center.

They're trying to raise awareness about the water consumption of ai and said "please dont actually send us your pee."

[–] ImADifferentBird@piefed.blahaj.zone 74 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, they're telling people to mail their piss to data centers so they can use it to cool their systems instead of ruining perfectly good drinking water. It's a satirical thing to raise awareness of the environmental impacts of data centers. And it's a pretty hilarious way to do it.

You have no choice but to leave a DNA trail.

DNA analysis is so good now it's difficult to determine who's actually left DNA at a scene and who's DNA was simply accidentally imported in to one.

That is to say, it's far too precise.

Obfuscate your DNA trail. Don't just send your pee. Send a piss cocktail, and drop swabs from public urinals in to the canister.

No liquid death ceo, you can't drink my piss.

Bear Grylls: challange accepted

[–] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't like it when Best Grylls gets all non-consentual

Watching Les Stroud suffer on Survivorman was more entertaining anyhow.

The shows served different purposes.

Bear Grylls's show was meant to be educational. Like, "if you're in this situation, here's what you can do."

Survivorman was a challenge show, albeit with one contestant and no grand prize. Not too different from Alone.

This seems off for a company that cans and ships water.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 5 points 1 day ago

Makes sense to me. Drink a lot of water, make a lot of pee.

Oh no, they've learned the secret of turning piss into gold from Infowars!

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

But what about the people turning their gold into piss?

[–] EpeeGnome@feddit.online 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Believe it or not, Infowars has you covered there too. What better way to hide your gold from an overreaching government than by turning it into piss?

[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 days ago

Then your can pour the piss into your swimming pool, and through the powers of homeopathy, have even more gold than you started with when you turn it back!

[–] Mostly_Gristle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Alcohol companies have had that figured out for quite some time.

[–] inb4_FoundTheVegan@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

It honestly is onion style satire.

The collector was listed for $18 on Liquid Death’s website and quickly sold out. Despite the campaign telling customers to send the contents to “the data center of your choice,” the company includes a disclaimer making it clear people shouldn’t actually mail their pee.

It is also an easy way to make $18.

Don't they just want your dna and data?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Your DNA is only in your piss if you've jerked off in the last twenty minutes.

[–] Evil_Incarnate@sopuli.xyz 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yourself or anyone? Asking for a friend.

That's funny and not true.

Urine contains DNA, but the amount of DNA that can be found in urine is much less than what other sources like blood or saliva can provide. But if urine is the only available source, a DNA extraction can still potentially occur.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You're speaking like someone who jerks off every twenty minutes.

[–] moondoggie@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Ya gotta go every 19 minutes to prevent DNA gaps in your urine.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 4 points 2 days ago

Those are rookie numbers.
