Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The seven-metre (23-foot) figure, packed with 14 kilograms (31 lb) of gunpowder, was part of a decades-old ceremony held on 5 April in El Burgo, a small town near the southern city of Malaga.

I think the reason Israel's decline into fascism has gone unchecked for so long is because they play the antisemitism card every time anyone voices even the slightest bit of criticism towards the country and/or its government. They know exactly what they're doing.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 133 points 1 week ago (5 children)

If they keep throwing around that word at every criticism, do they not realize they weaken their point a little bit every time. No one is sympathetic to their plight anymore as they have clearly become the aggressor beyond a doubt. Israel is Israel's problem. Destroying effigies of unpopular politicians is a tradition that dates back centuries, get over yourselves you big babies.

[–] WesternInfidels@feddit.online 31 points 1 week ago

It's gotten the point where one must dig into every accusation of "antisemitism" to see if there's really bigotry or if someone just pissed off the Zionists.

If one must find out more every time one hears a word, that word's utility is gone.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

that's the plan.

every time they kill a child on camera and say zionism==Judaism. they encourage people to become antisemitic. they then keep on going killing 1 in six people in Gaza. antisemitism grows. Antisemitic attacks increase, then their propaganda chants how only in Israel jews can be safe (demonstrably false). and get people to colonize new illegal settlements.

Israel wants antisemitism. zionism was always antisemitic.

The antisemites will be our allies

-Theodor Herzl (paraphrased because I can't be assed to get the original quote).

No one is sympathetic to their plight anymore as they have clearly become the aggressor beyond a doubt.

They always have been; it just took a livestreamed genocide for Westerners to get the point.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 9 points 1 week ago (4 children)

People have been sick of them for ages but a lot of politicians in the Western world, are, for some reason, beholden to Israel and have always criticised people who speak out against them. Even when that criticism is entirely justified and has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with specific individuals in the Israeli government, and their personal actions.

When you find out every single antisemitism statement and law are made to justify the moral of killing, prison, kicking out, and basically genociding the Palestinians people, who are the actual people who always lived there, the words and the laws doesn't mean anything.

hahaha they blew up an effigy of YOU my guy! that's pretty specific! kinda hard to seriously argue that hating ONE GUY out of all the Jewish people on earth is antisemitism.

(yes the rest of the zios can all fuck off too but this is too funny)

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 18 points 1 week ago

"We don't hate you because you're Jewish. We hate you for yourself alone."

[–] Akh@lemmy.world 45 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Israelis are antisemitic for genocide against Semitic Palestinians

[–] DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com 7 points 1 week ago

And are Nazis for carrying out the Hannibal Directive and falling for that Reichstag fire bullshit themselves.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Netanyahu is a wanted war criminal!!

https://www.icc-cpi.int/defendant/netanyahu
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICC_arrest_warrants_for_Israeli_leaders

Being against war crimes does not make you an anti Semite.
Israelis claiming that only shows they are disconnected from reality, and have an insane level of entitlement.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Calling this kind of thing "anti-semitic" implies that committing war crimes, including Genocide, is a fundamental Jewish trait.

THAT is about the most anti-semitic thing imaginable, way beyond most of the slander against Jews from the traditional anti-semites.

[–] reddit_sux@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

If you read old testament those are god's commands.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Excellent point. 👍

being against war crimes

Literally hitler.

Does Bibi yell antisemitism when his waitress takes a little too long to take his order?

[–] ms_lane@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He's probably called God an anti-semite after being rained on.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Prolly.

It’s also antisemitism when his ass wiper is a little too rough.

(If he’s still alive, even.)

Nope, not antisemitic.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 6 points 6 days ago

if anything he's antisemitic by lending credence to the Jewish cabal ruling the world shit.

[–] jaamesbaxterr@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Yep, shitty people are shitty people. I don't give a damn about nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation. None of that stuff has any bearing on your character and integrity.

In Netanyahu's mind, he is identical to Judaism.

I don't know why do many people insist on amplifying that message, it's going to have absolutely terrible effects on ordinary Jewish people around the world.

Well, I understand why people who hate Judaism would be spreading that idea, I guess.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yep. Hardcore, yep. I think the average person supports Judaism as much as any other religion; "do your thing, don't shove it down my throat. I respect you and your ideology." At the same time, any reasonable informed person would celebrate Netenyahoo's (I don't care to spell the clowns name correctly) funeral. I think most of us are on the same page for most things, but media influence is real, and very bad.

Blowing up an effigy: Antisemitic hatred, war crime

Blowing up schoolchildren: God approves it because he said my cunt children can live here forever.

[–] Bazell@lemmy.zip 21 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It is called antiZionism.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 20 points 1 week ago

Seems more like anti-genocide.

[–] magnue@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

This worked about 10 years ago. Now it's more of a 'boy who cried wolf' situation

[–] Djehngo@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

Lmao, would blowing up an effigy of Hitler be racist towards Germans?

Conflating disgust towards and individual with disgust towards the race/religion/nationality that individual belongs to is such a transparent attempt to shed well aimed criticism.

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just like antinazi is not antigerman, antizionism is not antisemitism. Zionist == Nazi. Israel currently is zionist country, therefore Israel == Nazi Germany.

[–] blinfabian@feddit.nl 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

this made me realise.

Nazi Germany was officially called Greater German Reich, Israel proclaims a Great Israel

imagine if in the future, after all this BS. we refer to 2020s israel as Zionist Israel the same way we refer to 1940s Germany as Nazi Germany

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

I am refering Israel as Nazi Germany today. They are evil society (country). Nazi Germany was tollerated few years, Israel is tollerated few decades but crimes can't be hidden forever. I hope that Israel fill have same fate as Nazi Germany, rebuilded into democratic and progressive country some day. Untill then they are the enemy.

[–] network_switch@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At this point when I’ve heard it said so many times for anything that isn’t just cheering on or silence that I usually expect those saying it to be racist and certainly Islamophobic and very likely genocide apologist

Based on Netanyahu's logic, if Israel doesn't want people to be anti-semetic, stop doing things to make people hate Israel.

Being anti-semetic and simply hating Israel's policies and those who implement and act them out are 2 very different things.

Netanyahu is a fucking idiot.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 9 points 1 week ago

How does the average Jew feel when this guy claims to represent them?

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago

Okay, so is Bibi implying here that he, all by himself, is the physical embodiment of Judaism on this planet?

If so I think that's blasphemy.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago

Nobody saw that coming. No-one at all. /s

[–] foggianism@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

there we have it, Satanyahu is the embodiment of semitism (according to him)
