He said he's struggling to approach "females"...

All of a sudden my empathy's on strike.

Wo-men. How hard is it to use the humanizing word?

Edit : my preshot was correct, in the end of the article, it's reported that he sent unsolicited intimate pics and made fatphobic insults.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago

This sounds difficult for him. The number of crass jokes people feel compelled to make reminds me of what trans people have long had to suffer. When someone's going through something unfamiliar to us, let's not just reach for the cheapest shots but try to be a bit more compassionate.

The surgery might be expensive, but it will save a lot of money over the years with current fuel prices, as he can go drive a normal car instead of a massive truck. More Americans should do this, especially fElon and diaper Donny.

[–] BlackLaZoR@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

I thought guy on the pic was Hasan

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I manage to pee without a penis. He, pee nis. Could someone who has one explain why he can't just sit on the toilet like we do and why it would cause incontinence?

But absolutely support the right of adults to modify their bodies however they want. For any reason or no reason. Hope he gets the result he's looking for.

[–] KernelTale@programming.dev 2 points 6 hours ago

I would think it's more for improving his ability to urinate cum. Like requiring people to put enough thinking power to it before calling him a perv for wanting an intimate life. Size is far from anything but this size would be very limiting.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 25 points 18 hours ago

Michael Phillips said online on Thursday that he needed the procedure to improve his ability to urinate, which is difficult for him given that he is reportedly 0.38in (0.97cm) long when fully erect. Otherwise, he said he must continue to wear diapers for adults with incontinence every day.

This is a compelling reason. Let's help the guy out. Donated.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Pretty sure this is just his way of humblebragging about his 0.38" cock.

Elon figures it didn't work as a billionaire, but it will definitely work as a trillionaire, because any problem can be solved with money.

Joking aside, what a rotten bit of genetic luck with which to get saddled. Best of luck, guy.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I’ve heard stories from ladies that made my eyes water. Guys they liked and decided to get physical with only to discover they were working with something roughly the size of their own clitoris. It really is an immediate dealbreaker much of the time, and you can’t blame them for wanting a functional sex life. Poor dudes really got worked by chance. I can’t even figure out how evolution has left this a possibility.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 hour ago

Evolution works by minimizing this kind of abnormality, but it never disappears. There’s just too much variance in how our DNA works. That’s a good thing, though, because the environment is not static. Without any variance, we would have died out a long long time ago. We need to adapt to survive in new environmental conditions.

I kinda feel for the guy. That’s a really unfortunate situation. He says it’s the size of a pinky finger nail. It’s gotta be hard for him to go to the bathroom, which he says is why he wants it enlarged.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I wonder if he’s tried pee funnels. They allow women to pee standing up. In fact, given how women all manage peeing I am surprised that his doctor says his only option is to wear diapers. Can he not sit and pee and make that work? Perhaps not. Inquiring minds want to know.

[–] petrol_sniff_king@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I would assume the incontinence is because he is incontinent and not because he doesn't know how to sit down, but I'm not motivated enough to look it up.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

I don’t actually see it written anywhere that he is incontinent, as in he can’t control when he pees.

You might have thought this because the Guardian article says he must “wear diapers for adults with incontinence,” but that appears to be a descriptor of the diapers, not him.

In his GoFundMe he gets more specific:

I have a condition called Micropenis which causes me to be only 0.38 inches, which has made everyday tasks like using the restroom without making a mess is extremely difficult for me. Because of this, my doctor has advised that I must use pull ups unless I can pursue a medical procedure to help increase the size and improve my ability to urinate.

So it does sound like a physical issue getting the pee into the toilet, not general incontience.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

why cant he just sit to urinate like half the population already do though

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 hours ago

Maybe he can't angle it downward?

[–] brave_lemmywinks@lemmy.world 40 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Damn this is almost a transitioning operation. Give him a big hog now.

This is actually a great example of how the majority of 'gender affirming care' is actually for a person who is already assigned at birth the gender they are affirming.

This male, who was assigned male at birth, is seeking gender affirming care to become... more male.

Oh, he's definitely going to do porn after this surgery

I commend him for publicly talking about it. I also commend him on his ability to admit his poor behavior. I genuinely hope he gets what he wants from this experience.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 7 points 18 hours ago

How dare this man try steal my story and use it for money making.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I don't understand why he wears diapers.

Women have even shorter urethras.

[–] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 4 points 16 hours ago (2 children)
[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

im wondering if it is because unlike women,it doesnt come out of the different hole and probaby more in front of him....which sitting might still help. i dont understand the whole story about needing a diaper

[–] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 3 points 7 hours ago

I could see there being an issue if you stopped flow of urine in your actual penis but that is controlled by inner sphincter muscles in the bladder not your urethra.

Perhaps his penis is not the only underdeveloped part of his urinary tract. Maybe his bladder sphincters are also underdeveloped and can't hold back a full bladder.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

don't get why men don't just sit anyway.

cleaning up piss is gross.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 1 points 58 minutes ago

Because it’s fun to piss standing up.

[–] jpreston2005@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago

it's a luxury piss, and I'll be damned if I don't sit down and take my time while on the clock.

[–] Aeao@lemmy.world 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Wow under an inch? That sucks.

[–] Saffire@sh.itjust.works 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)
[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 2 points 58 minutes ago

Under a centimeter. :( Poor guy.

[–] culprit@lemmy.ml 21 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (2 children)

Does this qualify as gender-affirming healthcare?

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 13 points 20 hours ago

Almost certainly. Gender affirming care also includes things like breast reduction for men, and anything else that is done to make someone appear more like the stereotypical form of a given gender. It doesn't matter if you're assigned that gender at birth either.
